The origin of Marini Salumi has a long and deep tradition dating back to 1966. Current owners, the Rea and Arnone families, have come together to form this new union between two independent Italian salami manufacturers. Alfredo Arnone created Bona Foods in 1966 and his first hire was none other than Giovanni Rea.
Bona Foods thrived throughout the decades as employees and customers alike were treated like family and friends.
In 1986, Giovanni decided it was time to forge his own path and created Rea Foods, thus introducing the now famous “Rea Sausage”. Over the course of the next 25 years, Rea and Bona often competed against each other for market share. In 2012 the two companies and owners came together under one roof and so began Marini Foods. Marini now produces products in both the Rea and Bona brand.
With both families still deeply enveloped in day to day operations , we continue to protect the old world traditions and art of salumi that both companies were founded on. We look forward to serving our customers for many more years to come.
